Holy Monkey Forest – Sangeh


Welcome to Holy Monkey Forest, Sangeh and a 13.969 hectares homogeneous Pala Forest, in habitat by hundred of fame monkeys. This is the biggest and the first monkey forest introduced as a tourism resort in Bali. The high pala tresses shade a mossy temple of Bukit Sari amidst the forest. 
 It is a Hindu Temple heritage by Mengwi Kingdom, which was build, in the 17th century. In the Sangeh Monkey Forest, a protected grove of Pala tress where tribes of monkey well as honored guests can be found a spacious temple known as Pura Bukit Sari Sangeh. This temple originally built by the royal family of Mengwi and is now taken care of by the people from the Village of Sangeh.
